Admission Requirement
1. Have completed CUSCS Certificate Programme in English (Upper Intermediate Level) or equivalent; or demonstration of proficiency of an equivalent level;
AND
2. Have Level 2 in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination including Chinese Language and English Language, or equivalent; or
3. Pass in one A Level or two AS Level plus five passes in HKCEE including Level 2 / Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language, or equivalent; or
4. Be aged 21 or above.
Overview
This programme aims to engage students in communication involving more sophisticated functions or purposes by developing their awareness and skills to identify and process different cues and strategies when interacting with texts and people. Adopting an eclectic approach including but not limited to the communicative approach, the lexical approach, and the task-based learning approach, learning activities involving different text types and speaking tasks of different nature will develop students’ ability to process and respond effectively in a structured, elaborate manner as a generally proficient communicator.

393901 Advanced English I 高階英語I
This course aims to enhance students as a stronger communicator by developing their awareness and skills to identify and process different cues and strategies when interacting with texts and people. It prepares students to engage in communication involving more sophisticated functions or purposes.
393902 Advanced English II 高階英語II
This course exposes students to different text types and affords them varied opportunities to engage with these materials for effective and generally proficient responses, including collaborative discussions where they might take a monitoring or leading role. They are further equipped to express themselves more elaborately in a more structured and/or idiomatic manner.

Duration
Normally students will complete the programme in 12 months.

Award
To qualify for the award of the Certificate in English (Advanced Level), a student must:
(a) have an attendance rate of 70% or above for each course, and
(b) pass the assessment of each course of the programme.
