Admission Requirement
Applicants should:
1. Completion of CUSCS Certificate Programme in Korean (Introductory) or equivalent; or demonstration of proficiency of an equivalent level; and
2. Completion of secondary education or equivalent; or aged 21 or above.

Programme Objectives
The goal of the programme is to enable the students to further develop their Korean proficiency so that they can fulfil immediate language functions that are readily necessary in an everyday, practical Korean language context.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, students will have acquired the ability to:
1. demonstrate knowledge of 500 more vocabularies and make conversation and write essay in different speech styles;
2. apply grammatical rules, such as verb conjugation for variety of use, auxiliary verbs for moods, complex sentences with relative pronouns, relative adverbs and adverbial clauses and usage of verbs with post-positions or combination with other verbs; and
3. make a presentation related to daily life, such as invitations, hobbies, travel and shopping, and making plans.

Programme Structure and Modules
This programme consists of 2 modules with 108 contact hours.
Module 1 Basic Korean 1 (54 hours)
This module aims to provide Basic-level Korean learners with a proper learning experience with different elements of the Korean language, such as complex pronunciation, basic vocabulary, grammar, everyday conversations, and short essay skills at Level 1~2 of TOPIK standards (Test of Proficiency in Korean).
Module 2 Basic Korean 2 (54 hours)
This module is a continuation of “Basic Korean 1”, and it aims to provide and enhance basic-level Korean learners with a proper learning experience with different elements of the Korean language, such as basic vocabulary, grammar, everyday conversations, and short essay skills at Level 2 of TOPIK standards (Test of Proficiency in Korean).
