As a pioneer of Korean language education in Hong Kong, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUSCS) offers a wide range of Korean programmes for learners with diverse needs. CUSCS started to offer Korean courses in 2001 and introduced the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) to Hong Kong in 2003. CUSCS also organises various activities to provide Korean language learners in Hong Kong with more opportunities to improve their Korean language skills and nurture their enthusiasm in learning.
To further promote Korean language learning in the territory, CUSCS established the Korean Language Education and Culture Centre (KLECC) in 2008. KLECC offers an important source of support for Korean language learners by providing convenient access to an extensive collection of learning resources related to Korean language and culture. KLECC also aims to enhance cultural exchange between Hong Kong and Korea, and foster closer collaboration with Korea through organising various cultural and academic activities, including the Korean Speech Contest, Korean study tours and cultural workshops. It also provides useful information on studying in Korea.
The “E-Learning Korean Course” is launched with Kyung Hee Cyber University in December 2016, as the first blended online learning course for Korean language in Hong Kong, to provide an option of flexible study mode for the busy learners.
