Wireless LAN
Network (WLAN) Guidelines
General Rules
- Each user is responsible
for all activities initiated in or on the Computing Service Facilities
by his/her account.
- Computing Service Facilities
are provided for administration and academic (instruction and
research) uses. These must not be used for commercial or personal
gains without explicit
approval of Information Technology Services (ITS) unit of CUSCS.
- The ITS staff may terminate
any connected login session that has been idling (unused for
15-45 minutes of time) depending on systems. This applies particularly
to limited resources
such as WLAN connections.
WLAN Usage Rules
- The facilities of the
WLAN are made available to the full-time students of the school,
generally without charge.
- Only CUSCS students
may access WLAN facilities and students MUST NOT SHARE
the logins and passwords with unauthorized people.
- Access to WLAN is a privilege,
not a right. This privilege is equated with the trust of
responsible use. If any student violates that trust, the student may
lose that privilege.
- The trust also rest on
user's commitment of legal use. Users will be liable to consequences
from releasing virus, letting other to use without supervision and
other computing offenses.
- CUSCS reserves the rights
to grant, suspend or terminate the WLAN access to students and
the decision is final. CUSCS shall not be liable to students nor any
third party for any
modification or termination of the WLAN access service.
