Special Notice

On entering the Learning Centres of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUSCS), all students and visitors are required to:

 

  1. Scan the LeaveHomeSafe venue QR code using the LeaveHomeSafe mobile app;
  2. Present their Vaccine Pass to show they have complied with the vaccination requirements.

 

You are also required to (i) Wear a face mask; (ii) Perform temperature screening, and; (iii) Use hand sanitizer. If you are subject to compulsory testing, you should conduct a rapid antigen test (RAT) before your negative nucleic acid test (NAT) report is obtained. Course Description & Learning Outcomes


ESG Series: Sustainable Banking and Finance
Mixed Mode: 10-hour pre-produced teaching videos & 5-hour real-time online tutorials

Course Description
This course aims to equip students with essential ESG knowledge and skills in banking and finance to cope with our world's most pressing Environment, Social, and Governance issues.

Upon completion of the course and achieving 70% attendance, students will be eligible to apply for the "Certificate of Attendance" from CUSCS.#

In addition, students who also pass the assignment will be eligible to apply for the followings:#
1) "Certificate of Completion" awarded by CUSCS
2) membership of the International Chamber of Sustainable Development (ICSD)
3) credential and certificate of "Certified ESG Planner CEP®"*

* "Certified ESG Planner CEP®" is a trademark granted by the International Chamber of Sustainable Development (ICSD).
* The relevant education programme has been officially approved and registered with the United Nations Sustainable Development Knowledge Platform in August 2021 with Registration Number: 39533.

Being a "Certified ESG Planner CEP®", you can:
1) have the authorization to use the trademark CEP® after your name as a credential;
2) obtain a solid knowledge of sustainability;
3) understand the trend and the state-of-the-art development in ESG;
4) apply the 5-step of CEPAR methodology to tackle pressing ESG issues.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

Professional Instructors

Dr. Angus Yip
Dr. Yip is a senior sustainability consultant and banker. He is a Chartered Banker (UK) and a Certified Banker (HK). He has over 30 years of working experience in banking, asset management, and consulting.

He was also awarded a master's degree in "Sustainability Leadership" from Cambridge University, a master's degree in "Management" from Harvard University, and a professional graduate certificate in "Corporate Sustainability and Innovation" from Harvard University.

Dr. Yip received his doctoral degree from the University of Wales TSD after completing the DBA programme. He focuses on research in the sustainable development of enterprises, ESG reports of listed companies, and the provision of related consulting services.


Dr. Mike Hui
Dr. Hui is an alumnus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, holds a Master of Finance from CUHK, and has a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.

With more than 20 years of teaching and consulting experience, he has mainly taught the examination courses of "Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)" and "Certified Financial Planner CFP" for many years.

Dr. Hui also provides professional customized analysis, management, and training services for banks and financial institutions. In recent years, he has also taught ESG courses in colleges and professional institutions and is committed to researching fields related to ESG investment.

He completed the DBA programme and received a doctoral degree from the University of Wales TSD. His thesis topic and research interests are also about ESG Investments.

Useful e-Learning Platform: personalized Moodle account

Moodle is a user-friendly Learning Management System. Students who successfully enrolled in this particular course will be eligible to use it for free.

Students can access all the teaching materials and submit assignments on Moodle. Before the commencement of the course, an email with the private login details will be automatically generated by the IT system and sent to each qualified student.*

*Students are advised to check their registered email address and trash box around one week before the course commencement date
