Programme Objectives

Tourism is ranked one of the four pillars of the Hong Kong economy. With opening of the Hong Kong Disneyland and the significant investment in tourism projects, a growth in tourism is expected to continue well into the next decade.

Closely linked to tourism are the hospitality services including travel, lodging, food services and events and destination management. In addition to serving incoming leisure travelers, these services also cater for business visitors, domestic residents and outbound travelers.

To meet the challenge of this significant growth and the increasing competition from other travel destinations in the Asia region, the practitioners in tourism and hospitality services must be well-educated, properly trained and keenly committed to ensure a positive experience for customers of these services.

To support the education, training and development of the required human resources in the tourism and hospitality industry, a Higher Diploma Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management is developed.

Programme Objectives

To provide students with a good academic and vocational foundation for a successful career in tourism and hospitality management ;
To cultivate students' attitude towards the high service delivery quality required in the tourism and hospitality industry ;
To prepare students for further studies in related fields.
