| Purpose
The scheme aims to help sub-degree final-year students or sub-degree graduates:
- gain substantial working experience before taking up undergraduate studies or full-time appointments
- build up human relation skills and appreciate how to apply academic knowledge acquired

Eligibility and Selection
Recruitment will commence by May and up to Dec 2009. All SCS Higher Diploma students can participate on a voluntary basis, while priority will be given to graduates or final-year students.

Mode of Engagement
If selected, each Project Trainee may apply to join daily, weekly, monthly service schedule(s) in order to participate in selected activities of various Divisions of SCS, to render IT, promotional, publication, facility management and enrolment services.

Engagement Guidelines
- Engagements are to be governed by the relevant guidelines at CUHK applicable to "contract for services"*
- Project Trainees are paid at
per hour of service
- Working hours for each Project Trainee at SCS should be less than 18 hours per week (i.e. weekly rate will be below $900 or monthly rate will be no more than $3600)
- The duration of each engagement should not exceed 59 days
- There should be a break of service for at least 1 month between consecutive engagements.
* A "contract for service" is to be offered under the engagement. It is NOT an employment contract and there is NO employer-employee relationship between CUHK and a Project Trainee.
