Programme Objectives
Service industries pay an important role in Hong Kong Society as Hong Kong shifts itself into a service oriented economy.
Regarding service companies, in order to compete in both local and global market places, it is essential for them to improve quality and productivity on a continuous basis. As a result, service organizations in Hong Kong are eager to recruit graduates who possess knowledge and skills for quality and productivity improvement in service organizations.
This programme provides you with the essential professional knowledge and skills, and equips you for service management professional in the near future.
Programme Objectives

To render students a good appreciation of the business and administration which build a good academic and vocational foundation ; |

To equip students with a concrete knowledge and understanding of relevant management concepts, methods and implementation techniques for service organizations with a view to gain technical, conceptual and behavioural skills for the resolution of operational problems they may face in employment ; |

To acquire a good understanding of information systems and their impact on business. |

Programme Structure
This programme will be offered on a full time basis. The normal duration of study will be three years for Secondary 5 or its equivalent entrants, and two years for Secondary 7 or equivalent entrants.
The 3-year programme
The 3-year programme consists of 29 modules with 1,350 hours of instruction. There are approximate 10 modules to be completed in each year.
The 2-year programme
The 2-year programme consists of 21 modules with 990 hours of instruction. There are 10 or 11 modules to be completed in each year.

Minimum Admission Requirements
The 3-year programme
Applicant should fulfill either one of the following:
five passes which include Level 2 / Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKCEE, or completion of Project Yi Jin, or equivalent qualification; or
be mature students at the age of 21 or above. (Applicants must have a demonstrated capacity to pursue the programme, and attend an interview.)
The 2-year programme
Applicant should fulfill either one of the following:
pass in one A Level or two AS Level subjects, or completion of a Pre-Associate Degree programme, plus the minimum admission requirement of the 3-year programme, or equivalent qualification; or
be mature students at the age of 21 or above. (Applicants must have a demonstrated capacity to pursue the programme, and attend an interview.)

General Information
Mode of Delivery
The programme will be mainly conducted in form of lectures and/or tutorials. A variety of learning formats, such as group discussions, presentations, and case studies will be used to create the interactive dynamics of students, to stimulate their analytical thinking and to encourage the free exchange of ideas.
Medium of Instruction
Subject to the nature of each module, English, Putonghua and Cantonese will be used as the media of instruction. Learning materials will be in English and Chinese as deemed appropriate.
Assessment Methods
Students' performance is monitored and assessed on a continuous basis through a variety of methods, such as assignments, class participation, projects, and final examinations.
