Programme Objectives

In today's competitive visual era, investment in visual design has become an essential factor for success of business organization. With a long tradition of Chinese culture and openness towards cultural diversity, Hong Kong has an advantage in the development of creative industries. To maintain Hong Kong's competitive edge, our School has designed the Higher Diploma Programme in Commercial Design. In the programme, which encompasses all areas involved in commercial design and covers both professional knowledge and technical skills, students would begin with basic training before proceeding to advanced and professional education. With the knowledge and skills gained from their study, our students would take up a leading role in the future creative industries.

The objectives of the programme are:

Provide comprehensive design training for students to enhance their future career in creative industries;
Develop the creativity of students with emphasis on both individual competence and team-work;
Enable students to be well equipped with professional knowledge for further education;
Instill a passion for innovation, excellence and lifelong learning in both fine arts and applied arts;
Nurture individual talents and enhance the aesthetic sensibility and arts literacy of the students;
