General Information 


Mode of Delivery
Classes are conducted in the forms of lectures, discussions and clinical practicum.

Medium of Instruction
Lessons will be conducted in English, Cantonese and Putonghua as deemed appropriate. Learning materials will be in English and Chinese as deemed appropriate.

Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the 3-year full-time Higher Diploma Programme in Chinese Medicine Pharmaceutical Technology, applicants should:
have a minimum of 5 passes in the HKCEE, including Level 2/ Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language or equivalent; or
Mature-aged students of 21 or above who do not meet the above admission requirements, but with demonstrated ability to pursue and complete the programme are eligible to apply for admission. Applicants may need to attend an interview if so required.

Articulation
Graduates of the Higher Diploma Programme in Chinese Medicine Pharmaceutical Technology, who have achieved the entrance requirements of the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, will gain entrance to their degree programme in Chinese Materia Medica.

Assessment Methods
Assignments, mid-term and final examinations are basically arranged in each module.

Award of Certificate
Students completing the Higher Diploma Programme in Chinese Medicine Pharmaceutical Technology and fulfilling the following criteria are eligible for the award:
Attain an attendance of 70% or above for each module;
Pass the assessment of each module with a score of 50% or above.

Venue
All lecture sessions will be conducted at SCS's town learning centres. Practicum will be held in hospital out-patient clinics, Chinese medicine practitioner's clinics or Chinese medicine pharmacies.
