CUSCS started offering Korean courses in the fall of 2001 to provide opportunities for the Hong Kong public to learn Korean. CUSCS introduced in 2003 the most prestigious Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) to Hong Kong. It has organised annually the Korean Speech Contest since 2005. CUSCS played an active role in working with Korean Consul General and EMB officials in including Korean language as one of CEF reimbursable language sectors.
Further, CUSCS has ongoing collaborations with many Korean universities. Through partnerships, CUSCS has helped many students gain intensive but valuable learning experiences through immersion programmes in Korea.
CUSCS colleagues offering Korean programmes are proud of the achievements and feel it is their mission to further improve the programmes through "Korean Language Education & Culture Centre" (KLECC) to ensure CUSCS remains a preferred choice for those who aspire to learn Korean in Hong Kong.
