Five Academies

Liberal Arts Academy

In a modern society that places significant emphasis on technical rationality and the division of labour, education tends to focus on the provision of professional knowledge and skills, problem solving and information acquisition. Hence, the rationale of education has been narrowed.

However, in any contemporary society, education should do more than just satisfy the need for economic development . Besides training people to become professionals, education should transmit culture, develop dimensions of life and enhance the quality of life. The importance of an education in the liberal arts is that it broadens the horizons and knowledge of learners, and develops their creative thinking.

The School of Continuing and Professional Studies has a strong tradition in areas such as art, the humanities and languages. Based on this tradition, the Liberal Arts Academy has the mission of developing courses in these areas and promoting whole-person development and lifelong learning.

The Academy provides a wide range of courses covering areas such as languages, calligraphy, fine art, Chinese painting, music, philosophy, culture, religion, science, environment, politics, sociology, psychology and health care. Through learning, your life will be broader and richer.
