What are the admission requirements for Top-up degree programs?

Applicants should have completed a relevant program at a sub-degree level and will need to demonstrate an appropriate standard of English. For more information, please refer to the individual program webpages.

Is course exemption applicable?

Yes. Course exemption varies from program to program. It depends on students previous studies and subject to the consideration and discretion of the University concerned.

When is the closing date for application?

Please refer to the individual program webpages. Applications received after closing date will be considered only subject to vacancy being available.

How much is the application fee?

The application fee is HK$200.

What are the application procedures?

You should submit your application form to one of our enrolment centres either by post or in person with the following:
a) A non-refundable application fee of HK$200 by crossed cheque or bank draft made payable to "The Chinese University of Hong Kong";
b) A copy of Hong Kong identity card or relevant identification document;
c) Copy of certificates and transcripts of all relevant academic qualifications, e.g. AD, HD, HKAL, HKCEE, IELTS, etc;
d) Proof of English Language proficiency;
e) A portfolio CD (for Bachelor of Design Program only; Portfolio Guideline is available at program webpage) / A Portfolio CD /DVD includes video, interactive media, motion graphics / animation, etc. (for Bachelor of Creative Arts Program only).

Note: All of the above documents will need to be verified against the original copies. The verification process can be done at our enrolment centres or during interview, if any.

Is there any admission interview?

Interview is subject to the review of individual applications. Shall it be required, applicants will be informed accordingly.

How long does it take for me to get my application result?

Normally, applicants will be notified of their offer result around three weeks following the receipt of their application forms.

Are there any financial assistance scheme or scholarship available?

Yes. Students can apply for financial assistance through the Government's Non-means Tested Loan Scheme (NLS). Details of NLS can be obtained from the website of the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) at www.sfaa.gov.hk

Besides, scholarships are available for students of Griffith University's Bachelor of Business programs. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit during the first part of the programs.

Are the teaching staff local teachers or overseas lecturers?

All lectures are taught by the academic staff of Griffith University, Flinders University or QUT respectively, and supplemented with tutorials conducted by local tutors, if any.

What is the medium of instruction?

All lectures and tutorials are conducted in English. All student assessments, both written and oral, are in English.

Is the award conferred by the overseas universities?

Yes. The award will be conferred by the overseas universities. It will have equal status to those awarded to resident graduates by the universities.

Is this overseas course(s) recognized?

This is an exempted course under the Non-Local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance. It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognize any qualifications to which the course may lead.
